The Provincial Nomination Program (PNP)
Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] offers immigrants an esteemed gateway to Canada's PR Visa. The PNP allows people to settle down permanently in their territories and provinces in Canada by participating in the PNP, where they nominate people who can settle down in that specific province or territory.
People participating in this PNP program should have an immigration stream linked with the federal Express Entry System. As soon as the person nominated by a province or territory gets you an additional 600 CRS [Comprehensive Ranking System] points. The people who are nominated under streams linked with EE by provinces and territories are also called "enhanced nominations". All these enhanced nominations are processed online. In 80% of the cases, the standard processing time for such enhanced nominations is 6 months or less.
Alberta's provincial nomination program provides nominations to foreign applicants in 3 streams.
